There are around 158 million websites that exist on Google under the keyword Weight Loss Diet. This shows that many of us are looking and searching for solutions that will assist us to lose the excess weight we carry with us every day. But before we start with anything in our lives, we want to know what it is and how did it all start!?


So here it is:

What is  Diet?

Weight Loss Diet is picky selection of food, especially designed or prescribed to improve a person’s physical condition or to prevent or treat a disease. It is also a selection or limitation on the quantity a person eats for reducing weight. It is also the food and drinks measured in terms of its qualities, composition and its effects on health. So in other words diet is metaphor we use to reach the ideal Me, Myself and I.

How did the Weight Loss Diet Mania start?

Weight Loss Diets have probably been around for thousands of years but first reported diet appeared in 1800s, where overweight people where mostly the once in the upper-class of the food chain, so being fat was not a dilemma encountered by most, but yet as the time progressed, so did the relative redistribution of riches, and with it came weight gain for many of our ancestor, who have at the same time pushed it down the line to us and now we are the once carrying the Diet burden on our ties, hips, stomach….

The first evidenced diet was in 1850s, a man called William Banting was dangerously overweight that he supposedly could not tie his own shoes. Mr. Banting received a startling advice from Dr. William Harvey who had suggested that sugars and starches should be cut out of Mr. Banting’s Diet: The Low Carbohydrates Diets have been borne.

To everyone’s surprise William Banting lost fifty ponds in a year, so thrilled at his achievement he wrote a book, which was the world’s first Diet Book titled "Letter on Corpulence, Addressed to the Public", which contains the particular plan for the diet he followed. 

And now 150 years later many people are losing weight and at the same time many more are gaining it, so the demand of a perfect Weight Loss Diet has increased significantly.
