South Beach Diet

There a lot of new diets that work because of carbohydrate restriction the Atkins Diet is one many people have tried, only to regain the weight back at a later date. However it is true that if you love meat, you can and will lose very much weight. This is due to the elimination of water in the body. Atkins Diet works with a high protein and very low carbohydrate diet. As this diet is very strict, you cannot stay on this diet for very long because it is a hazard to your health. Affecting the vital organs, and although it is based on somewhat of the same concept, the South Beach Diet is not as severe.

This diet also allows you to have snacks to help you stay satisfied until your next meal.

Part I of South Beach Diet

The phase I part of the South Beach Diet is a two week stint on the right amounts of beans, nuts, meats, cheese and eggs. You will not be allowed to consume items like, alcohol, candy, cakes, pies, bread, rice, pasta until this time is over. During the next phase alcohol will be allowed but only in the form of wine and in moderation as it will help with a variety of health problems. There are Diet Recipes available for phase 1 wherever information is found about this program.

Part II of South Beach Diet

As we slowly introduce the carbohydrates back into phase 2 of thia weight loss diet plan, we are reminded that slowly is the key. If carbohydrates are re-introduced too fast, it may cause you to not stick to the plan and you will have to start over. What is done here is you choose a carbohydrate to eat back into your diet for each week. If you feel as though you are over doing it you may return to phase 1 until you feel better about moving on.

The goal here is to add about three different carbohydrates a day until you can eat them in moderation and without fear of weight gain. You will stay on phase 2 of the South Beach Diet until you feel as though you have control of your weight and have reached your weight loss goal before moving on to phase 3 of the program.

Part III of South Beach Diet

During phase 3 of the Diet which has been called “a diet for life” you will go on following the things that you have applied in phases 1and 2. This phase should not let you put your guard down, so to speak, but help you to realize that you have made it this far and should continue on the path to good health as before. It is not unusual to slip back into old habits after reaching this phase. Sometimes reverting to the way things were seems comforting and it may start with a celebration for your new life. Sometimes a bite here or there won’t hurt if you can remain disciplined.

The South Beach Diet is designed to be a change for life, and soon you will discover that you will be energized leaving you with a good feeling from the inside out.
